After two nights spent in the hospital, we were quite anxious to get home with Eisley and see what it felt like to be ‘on our own’. We did have great care while we were at SAMC, but it just wasn’t the same as being in our own space with our own things. And…the sheets were really a very low thread count (just ask Nicholas about that one).

On Friday morning we were able to have Eisley discharged after she passed all of her initial screenings with the pediatrician. It took a little longer to have me discharged, but after some lengthy paperwork and instructions we were ready to pack up. Eisley got to wear her first real outfit (although it was quite big for her) and she did great on the way out to the car. We got her situated in a relatively short period of time, and started our new journey as a family of three.

When we got home, Nicholas got Eisley out of the car and we proceeded to give her a brief tour of her home (short video below). After much anticipation, it felt so good for all of us to be there together and to just exhale knowing that our daughter is safely home.

**It has been brought to our attention by someone much wiser than us (thank you Lindsay!) that we have been putting Eisley into the car seat incorrectly. Rest assured, we will no longer be “push, push, pushing” Eisley’s little legs through the arm straps. :)

I cannot believe I watched this entire video. I still haven’t opened video that people sent me 6 months ago entitled, “this is SOOOO funny.” I loved it. I even teared up once. Next thing you know I’ll be knocked up and blaming Eisley.

Gran (Mitch’s mom) always told us, babies bounce back.
    And she was so right!
