Yesterday we took Eisley to the park in San Marcos with Bella, Aunt Jenna, and Jenna’s boyfriend Kyler.  It was a great day to have a picnic and we found a nice shady spot.  Both Nicholas and Aunt J went swimming, and Eisley got her toes in as well!

Last weekend we attended our nephew’s 3-year birthday party at Extreme Fun in Austin. There’s at least one thing that’s fun about little kid birthday parties: watching them eat the cake. Here’s a short video.

My mom and sister (Bella and Aunt J) threw Eisley a shower last weekend.

Lisa and Josh Veltri got Eisley this jungle mat. She absolutely loves it! The other day, Courtney got some footage of her.

*If you hear laughing, that’s not Eisley. She’s not quite that advanced. The jungle mat makes a laughing sound along with the music.

Eisley yawning at the parkLabor Day weekend was beautiful this year, so we decided to head to Zilker Park on Sunday. We met the Gaths near the playground at 3:00. Bryson played while Eisley, Finley and the rest of us sweated it out in the small patches of shade that we could find. After the playground became boring, we decided to take a ride on the Zilker Zephyr. The small train took us through the park and under a bridge, along the banks of Barton Creek. Eisley slept the entire time, so I’m guessing she enjoyed the ride.

After the train ride, it was dinner time. We found a nice shady spot with a grill and settled down. We played frisbee, hide-and-go-seek and fed the babies until dinner was ready. After we ate, we attempted to make homemade ice cream without rock salt (the one ingredient I forgot). We used an “ice cream ball” that my mom had given us one year for Christmas. Basically you load it with your ingredients and then roll it around for 30 minutes and, presto, you have homemade ice cream. After about 20 minutes of rolling the ball around, Mike decides to pick it up and toss it to me in the air. His aim was way off and my receiving ability was even worse. We ended up with half-frozen ice cream all over the ground and a broken ice cream ball. We did manage to scrape together one sip of “milkshake”, which Bryson was reluctant to try but thoroughly enjoyed.

We headed home at about 8:30 when the sun went down. We managed to keep Eisley alive and sunburn free during her first trip to the park!
