A few weeks ago Eisley completed her first swim lesson with our friend PJ. She’s not quite a champion swimmer yet, but she’s well on her way.

EisleyDear Eisley,

Our sweetest girl, wherever did the time go? It is incredibly hard to imagine that a mere 730 days ago we were bringing you home in a completely botched car seat. Luckily you made it through the trip home and have made these rookie parents of yours quite proud.

You are a complete busy body who rarely sits still. You like to play with lots of your toys, but prefer to have Mommy or Daddy watching you while you play. You love watching Sesame Street on a daily basis but if the episode does not feature Elmo, well, we might as well just turn it off because you lose interest. You absolutely love cooking, whether it be real cooking in the kitchen or now in your new play kitchen. You like to taste all of the different spices we keep in containers and you never seem to shy away from trying new things.

You are quite the verbal child and definitely let us know what you are thinking moment to moment. Mommy and Daddy love hearing you sound out longer words like “comfortable” and “educational”, terms that are in some of your favorite bedtime stories. There is a CD that you received for your first birthday and now we must play it anytime we are in the car. You can’t seem to get enough of “The Big Bubble Be-Bop” song and all of the rest of the music on the disk. Somehow, Mommy knows all of the lyrics too…

My how you love the water! You have been a water baby from the time of your very first bath. And now? Now is no exception because you love playing in the water whether it’s in the bathtub or at the pool. You just finished your first swim lessons with Ms. PJ and you did really great. You now want to play the ‘Jack in the Box’ game all the time when swimming.

Your lovie is still a great source of comfort for you. You will absolutely NOT go to sleep without it and start to panic if you wake up and can’t find it. You were attached to your pacifier up until about 3 weeks ago, when we discovered your last one broken (psssttt….just wanted to let you know that your parents are responsible for the ‘breaking’). You had a very difficult first night without it but have managed to make it without too much difficulty ever since.

You are growing up so quickly and we just wish we could bottle up this time and save it for always. Mommy and Daddy have both heard several people reiterate what we already know…that you are the sweetest girl. We consider ourselves so very lucky to have you in our lives. We can’t thank you enough for making us parents, for creating laughter in our home, and for making Mommy and Daddy’s hearts swell with love each and every day. We love you dearly, our curly-haired girl.

Mommy and Daddy

I’m posting a couple cute videos of the kids.

Everett has been smiling and cooing a lot lately. In this video we get a little bit of everything: smiling, cooing, sneezing, yawning and a little surprise at the end.

Eisley has been into impersonating Cookie Monster lately. In this video, she gives her best impression.

One rainy day Courtney caught Eisley and I on camera playing in the rain.
