For Courtney’s birthday this year, we made the spur of the moment decision to book a cabin in Fredericksburg. We got there Friday night (the 11th) and ate at a German restaurant called Der Lindenbaum. Eisley loved the schnitzel! On Saturday, we walked up and down main street, venturing into a few shops. On Sunday, we ate breakfast at a restaurant called Rathskeller and then spent a few hours at Pedernales Falls State Park on our way home.
Back in March, we spent our anniversary walking around the UT campus. We got a great shot of Eisley in front of the Alumni Center and submitted it to the Alcalde Magazine (the magazine of the Texas Exes). It was finally published in the November/December edition.

We found out last Monday that Jellybean #2 is a boy! Everyone around us, including us, had strong “boy vibes” so I can’t say that we were surprised. We’re very excited to have a baby boy and Eisley is excited to have a baby brother.

Lately, Eisley has been showing a lot of interest in eating with real utensils. So we bought her a little fork to start practicing with. She pretty much picked it up right away.
Interesting note: she’s definitely more coordinated with her left hand than her right. Courtney is excited that our daughter may be a lefty.

This year we got to celebrate a real Halloween with Eisley (last year she was too little to know what was going on). We started the day by cheering on Bryson at one of his t-ball games. Then we went out to lunch with Courtney’s family and then spent a little time at a Halloween party that one of my coworkers was hosting. Then it was back home for a little trick-or-treating.
We dressed Eisley up in her pig costume (a hand-me-down from cousin Finely) and set out to find some candy. After a brief tantrum (Eisley wanted to walk out into the street and we wouldn’t let her) we found our first house. Eisley knew just what to do. She picked up her basket and headed right to the front door. Her candy of choice was a Reece’s peanut butter cup. Good choice.
We visited a few more houses and even came across another little girl dressed as a pig along the way. We spent the rest of our evening rooting for the Longhorns and handing out candy.
